Insecure On HBO Max

If you are looking for a mix of drama and comedy, stream Insecure on HBO Max. The series, based on Issa Rae’s web series Awkward Black Girl, follows Issa Dee (played by Issa Rae herself) as she navigates through tumultuous relationships, friendships, careers, and communities.

The show addresses racism, gentrification, toxic masculinity, sexuality, and more. While it does address these serious topics, much of the show has hilarious scenarios and characters that are easy to get attached to.

Elite On Netflix

This show will have you on a roller coaster of emotions. The series follows students at a famous private high school in Spain. When working-class students join the mix of wealthy students on campus, tensions are so high that one student ends up dead.

As a suspenseful and dramatic series, this 3 season series will keep you pressing “next episode” on your screen. The show is full of twists and turns, so be surprised if your predictions turn out wrong. Though new characters are added to the show every season, it is not hard to keep up with the ever-changing cast.

Invisible Man On Amazon Prime (Available For Purchase)

Elizabeth Moss in The Invisible Man

I personally hate predictable movies. I want to be surprised and to question everything once a film is over. Invisible Man definitely gave me that satisfaction. The movie is a mix of horror and thriller as the plot will keep you guessing 'till the end of the movie. A woman escapes an abusive marriage and later finds out that her husband committed suicide.

While the scenario may be seen as a relief, her husband appears to be invisible and torments her. The entire film makes you question whether the woman only imagines the terror of her husband or if he really is out to get her.
