Candy Chan is studying History with a focus on War and Revolution at Barnard College. She is currently a staff writer at the Columbia Daily Spectator, covering issues pertaining to Columbia's relationship with West Harlem.
Prior to that she was an editor at Spectator's long-form magazine, The Eye, where she wrote stories about gender and sexuality.
Chan grew up in Vietnam where she witnessed first-hand the dangers of censorship; she has been determined to pursue a career in truth-seeking and to defend journalists' rights since.
