GOOD MORNING DC: Call The Cops

#GoodMorningDC.Tucker Carlson has declared war on outdoor mask-wearers and wants you to call the cops.

Good Morning DC with Chief White House Correspondent Ksenija Pavlovic Mcateer

Good Morning DC. It's Tuesday, and Tucker Carlson has declared war on outdoor mask-wearers. "The only people who wear masks outside are zealots and neurotics," Tucker said about Biden's voters in DC and asked Americans to "politely but firmly" ask them to take off their masks when they see them. Tucker called mask-wearing outdoors "repulsive."

Regarding the children who wear masks, the FOX TV host said that it is no different than "child abuse", like seeing someone beat a kid in Walmart.

"Call the police immediately," Tucker told the viewers. "Contact child protective services," he went on. "Keep calling until someone arrives," he insisted.' It's child abuse, and you are morally obligated to protect it."

Tucker lost the plot. On some other occasion, we could file his little episode under Comedy Central. However, this situation is just one irresponsible use of an enormous platform Tucker has to turn Americans against each other.

If we did not have at least one spy thriller news in the first hundred days of Biden's presidency, we would not be living in DC. Yesterday, the tapes of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif were leaked to the public. The man implicated in recordings is former Secretary of State John Kerry. Allegedly, he shared sensitive information about Israeli military operations in Syria. If you have time, read the NYT report

At the State Department, Ned Price laid out the US intentions for the Western Balkans.

"The United States stands ready to support work towards a comprehensive, binding normalization agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, centered on mutual recognition, that lays the foundations for lasting cooperation and prosperity," Price said. The keyword here is "mutual recognition," a pressure President Biden intends to place on Serbia to recognize Kosovo and Metohia, a move that Serbian people do not support.

"We support the EU-facilitated Dialogue and encourage the parties to reengage in this process with a sense of urgency to address both technical and political issues. We will work with Serbia and Kosovo to implement their Washington Commitments in support of the goal of full normalization," Price added, although the Washington Agreement signed last year between Serbs and Albanians mandates both sides to restrain for one year from any activities regarding the territorial dispute.

What will Biden do today?

This Tuesday morning, Biden will issue Executive Order that will secure a $15 minimum wage for federal contractors. The minimum wage for workers performing work on covered federal contracts is currently $10.95 per hour, and the tipped minimum wage is $7.65 per hour.

Starting January 30, 2022, all agencies will need to incorporate a $15 minimum wage in new contract solicitations, and by March 30, 2022, all agencies will need to implement the minimum wage into new contracts.

Biden's EO will build on the Obama-Biden Executive Order 13658, issued in February 2014, requiring federal contractors to pay employees working on with federal contracts $10.10 per hour, subsequently indexed to inflation.

At 9:30 am, Biden will receive the President's Daily Brief.

At 1:15 pm, Biden will deliver remarks on the COVID-19 response.

At 12:30 pm, the White House COVID-19 Response Team and public health officials will hold a press briefing.

At 1:45 pm, Press Secretary Jen Psaki will brief the press.

Heads up

On Friday, April 30, Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff will travel to Raleigh, North Carolina with Secretary Pete Buttigieg. Their trip is part of Biden's effort to communicate the need for the American Jobs Plan.

For our dash of pop, as everyone needs some, you should know that the Oscars ratings crashed to an all-time low. The Nielsen Live+Same Day poll found that only 9.85 million viewers watched the Oscars. That is 13.75 million viewers less than the previous year. "Woke brigade," as Piers Morgan likes to call the proponents of cancel culture work for some, and the price of this new trend is a loss of 58% of the audience.

Kanye West, despite his divorce and the rumors that Kim is dating Van Jons, is on the up and up. His Nike Air Yeezy 1 sneakers were sold for $1.8M at the private auction.

And that's a wrap for this Tuesday morning, April 27, 2021.Thanks for waking up with me. Good Morning DC will be back tomorrow to bring you the latest first.
