BREAKING: US Capitol On Lockdown

Breaking: US Capitol is now on lockdown.

VP Pence has been evacuated and everyone has been ordered to stay in place.

The debate has been suspended, a measure taken in only extreme security situations. 

President Trump just tweeted a message criticizing VP Mike Pence.

"Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!", he tweeted.

DC Mayor Browser has issued a citywide curfew for the District of Columbia from 6 PM on Wednesday, January 6, until 6 AM on Thursday, January 7. 

The entire House floor has been evacuated as the protestors have entered the building. The members of Congress have been moved to be basement where the US Capitol Police is protecting them. 

 

 

President Trump has invited protestors to remain peaceful.

 

 

Mayor Bowser and Nancy Pelosi have requested National Guard to deploy. Their request is under consideration at the moment.

Police officers are FBI are deployed to the U.S. Capitol. Press Secretary announced that the National Guard has been deployed.
